How Safe is a CyberTruck

Sorry haters, NHTSA says it is really safe. Some would say “amazingly safe”.

FutureAzA along with Herbert covers the NHTSA report. The executive summary is “safest pickup ever”. Remember, the safety goal is not “nothing crushes”. That produces a death trap. Instead, modern vehicles are designed to crush in the right places and right ways to protect the occupants. What you will see in the NHTSA report is exactly how that happened with the CyberTruck.

I am reminded of my car shopping in 1980. We were looking for a small car and a VW Rabbit fit our requirements. But, at the time There was a Dodge (and, I think a Plymouth) that was basically a Rabbit. They cost a little less and I mentioned that to the VW dealer. He lifted the hood and pointed to the frame supports showing how they were “lumpy”. Why? So that in a front-end accident they would crumble rather than be forced into the passenger compartment. He said “go look at the Dodge”. Sure enough, the Dodge didn’t have those “lumps”. I bought the Rabbit”.

Watch Brian’s video and you will see how serious Tesla is about safety on the CyberTruck.
