It’s not a turbine but it is an interesting alternative that makes economic sense.
Look at the illustration. It is an oval track with vertically-mounted blades that move around it. In the example, the support poles for the track are 25 meters tall and the “wings” are 10 meters tall. Thus, the structure is much cheaper and much easier to assemble than the traditional wind turbine.
The cost differences are amazing.
The design is also totally flexible. That is, you could have an oval of whatever diameter fits the space you have.
