Pro or anti-EV, this is an interesting move. Shell is closing 1000 gas stations and opening EV charging stations. Their goal is 200,000 stations by 2030. They currently have 54,000.
There is a bit of rhetoric from Shell (yeah, low carbon, …) but this is clearly about economics. EV charging can make money. And, when you charge your EV you will spend money in the attached convenience store. It fits. More from The Electric Viking
