Yes, we keep hearing that EVs are just not selling. Is that true?
Well, GM just had its best EV sales month ever. The number is low compared to GM’s total vehicle sales at only around 9000 but that is a record.
Why not more? There are multiple reasons:
- GM killed the Bolt, it’s most affordable option
- Most current offerings are pretty much the same car
- GM doesn’t really want to sell its current EVs because it likely loses money on each one.
The Electric Viking has more to say about this. But, bottom line is simple — at this point US companies, with the obvious exception of Tesla, don’t really want to sell more EVs.
