Can the Electric Grid Handle EVs?

Franci from Out of Spec interviews Dan Bowermaster from EPRI to get an independent look at if the grid can handle EVs and, if so, how. We so often hear that the grid cannot handle the EV load so this interview is what we need to get the real picture.

At about 15 minutes into the interview they get into the things that really interest me — the “can and how”. Dan points out that the grid grew in the mid-20th century at the rates that will be needed to support EV adoption so this is not growth that has not been dealt with in the past. Dan offers a lot of use-case examples so you get a better idea what is really required to support electric vehicles in the future.
