While it still isn’t exactly clear it seems that Tesla has decided to prioritize the robotaxi over the $25,000 car. That sounded crazy not long ago but now the numbers are starting to make it sound like the best possible decision. In this video Cathie Wood of Arc Invest offers up a lot of numbers.
Cathie tends to be right most of the time. But, backing off from her analysis, the reality is that if Tesla introduces an inexpensive consumer car it enters a very competitive market. On the other hand, if they can do robotaxis they are way ahead of everyone else because of the amazing amount of data they have collected from Teslas currently operating. That data is clearly worth billions of dollars.
