It’s been a long time in the making but the Cybertruck is officially real. Giga Texas has apparently built the first production unit. While there are still some media outlets calling it vaporware or suggesting it will be just a niche vehicle, numbers indicate that is crazy.
There are almost two million orders in the backlog right now. The deposit was only $100 and refundable so it is unlikely that all two million people will elect to take delivery but a lot will. I believe it was Elon who said it is the only truck with over a six foot bed and four doors that will fit in a 20 foot garage. In any case, it is something that currently has no competition.
